The Creatives Doormat
The Creatives Doormat is Afrikala Art’s rallying cry for creative rights and fair work. In a country and world that too often overlooks or underpays talent, this initiative creates platforms for creatives to be seen, heard and compensated. From brand strategy and podcast production to photography and visual storytelling, our creative team provides high-quality creative services to changemakers and businesses worldwide.
What makes it different? Every shilling earned powers our mental health work and supports peer mentorship among young, aspiring creatives from under-resourced communities.
But The Creatives Doormat is more than a service, it’s a safe space for the creative voices. Through our namesake podcast, we hold real conversations about the highs, lows and hustle of being a creative in Africa. We unpack issues of access, dignity, identity and justice, all while mentoring the next generation of visual storytellers and digital strategists. Here, creativity becomes community and every voice adds to a larger, louder movement for change.

Afrikala Lifestyle
Afrikala Lifestyle, on the other hand, is our lifestyle and fashion-forward answer to climate justice and cultural pride. It’s a sustainable fashion line that celebrates African design while honouring our responsibility to the earth. Grounded in ethical sourcing and storytelling, Afrikala Lifestyle redefines style as a conscious act, where every garment is stitched with intention. Using organic fibres like cotton and corduroy, we design for confidence, durability and cultural heritage. Our pieces are slow-crafted to last, to speak and to represent our diversity.
Beyond garments, Afrikala Lifestyle is a vision: a circular, community-based fashion economy that uplifts artisans, protects ecosystems and inspires global change. As we prepare to launch this line mid-2025, we are already cultivating a movement that bridges design, environmental sustainability and economic justice. Afrikala Lifestyle isn’t just about what you wear, it’s about how you show up in the world.
