Who We Are
Discover the story, mission and heartbeat behind Afrikala Art where creativity meets healing, dignity and social transformation.
Afrikala Art is a hybrid creative social enterprise dedicated to championing mental health, creativity, talent and economic empowerment among children, young people, creatives and marginalised communities.

We believe in the transformative power of art and wellness to heal, empower and shift narratives. Since 2020, we’ve rooted our work in Kenya, with footprints across different neighbourhoods and counties.
Afrikala Art offers more than programmes, we are building movements. Movements that restore dignity. Movements that connect passion to purpose. Movements that open up safe spaces for expression, healing and building meaningful livelihoods.

Why Mental Health Matters
Mental health is at the heart of what we do. We centre well-being in all our programmes because we understand that mental health affects every part of life, from how we learn and work, to how we connect, thrive and dream.

We are on a mission to:
-
Break the stigma surrounding mental health, especially in underserved communities.
-
Encourage open conversations that foster empathy and understanding.
-
Provide resources and psychological support to address mental health and economic challenges.
-
Promote holistic wellness through creativity, movement and storytelling.
Whether it’s a young girl navigating GBV trauma, a teenager facing academic and economic stress, or a creative unsure how to make a living from their talent, Afrikala Art walks with them, co-creating access, amplifying stories and building sustainable futures.
Our Vision

A world where mental health is prioritised, creativity is nurtured and young people thrive economically through sustainable opportunities.
Our Mission

Afrikala Art harnesses the power of creativity to drive social change by promoting mental health awareness, empowering young people and creatives with essential information, tools and support, fostering resilience through strategic partnerships, advocacy and co-creation of safe spaces.
