Your journey of learning, unlearning and relearning about Mental Health and Selfcare

Mental Talk is Afrikala Art’s flagship storytelling and dialogue platform, dedicated entirely to exploring the complexities of mental health and selfcare. Through real stories, expert conversations and lived experiences, Mental Talk creates safe spaces for truth-telling and deep listening. It features voices from all walks of life, individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges, psychologists, advocates, artists, athletes and changemakers sharing raw, powerful narratives that remind us all that: you are not alone.

At the heart of Mental Talk is our Mental Talk podcast, a bold and inclusive platform that seeks to demystify the myths, misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental health. Each episode centres on empathy, vulnerability and connection reminding listeners that it’s okay not to be okay and that reaching out for help is not a weakness, but a courageous step toward healing.

Whether in person or through the airwaves, Mental Talk is reshaping how mental health is discussed in communities, turning silence into conversation and conversation into change.
