Amélie Desjardins
Trustee
Amélie is a strategic development consultant and human rights advocate working at the nexus of gender, youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. A former lawyer and serial entrepreneur, she brings over a decade of experience designing and evaluating impact-driven programs globally. Amélie is deeply committed to feminist leadership, creative advocacy and building dignity-affirming systems that centre young people and communities. She is thrilled to be one of the members of Afrikala Art’s Board of Trustees and she is looking forward to amplifying the organisation’s transformative work through art, mental health and social change.
As a Trustee, Amélie is committed to help with resource mobilisation and ecosystem-building. She hopes to support Afrikala Art’s growth by leveraging her global network of like-minded changemakers, funders and creative allies. With a passion for connecting impact investors to impact entrepreneurs across Africa, she aims to amplify Afrikala’s visibility, strengthen partnerships and unlock sustainable funding pathways to scale its transformative work in mental health, art and community well-being.
